بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاکَ إِلَاّ رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِینَ
We have not sent you (O Muhammad) as a mercy to the worlds. Al Quran 21:107
At a time when humanity feels the growing of the need for heavenly guidance and the mercy and salvation, which was the greatest goal of the highest and most honorable divine messenger Muhammad (PBUH). And now that tendency to Islam is still growing after 14 centuries from beginning of this great call, which aims to guide people to salvation all over the world, especially in Europe and America, despite all the propaganda of arrogant powers against it.
Even those who do not believe in this great saving call, when facing it, they treat it with respect and praise the way and method of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Some people have choose the vulgar way of ridicule to fight and quarrel, and on this basis, the obscene and repeated insults of the insulting magazine “Charlie Hebdo” in France and the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden and some other European countries which are all protected under the name of freedom of expression since 2007, are an example of modern ignorance and Intellectual and moral degeneration of the present age.
We as the “European Islamic Union of Shiite scholars and theologians” while strongly condemning these acts and respecting the followers of all divine prophets, and freedom of speech, We have to point out some important points:
First: We consider insulting the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as insulting to all divine prophets and disrespecting the Holy Quran as disrespecting the books of all prophets.
Secondly: We thank all the positive actions of Sweden government, and we ask on all European officials and legislators to seriously strengthen the peaceful coexistence of the followers of the heavenly religions and to maintain the health and stability of the citizens of European countries, while recognizing the danger of this ignorant and irrational actions. And we ask them for separating the issue of freedom of expression from insulting the sanctities of the heavenly religions, and passing the law forbidding the insult to the sanctities of the heavenly religions in continental Europe.
